R.I.P. Dj Mehdi

Sad news today from France. This afternoon twitter informed us that Dj Mehdi died after an accident at his home.
Born in Paris in 1977 (same as me) Mehdi Favéris-Essadi started as hip-hop producer then he created his personal style mixing hip-hop with electro-house. Signing with Ed Banger in 2006 he had the opportunity to relese the album 'Lucky Boy'. Currently working with Riton in the duo project Carte Blanche, he collaborated with Daft Punk, Cassius and Chromeo.

This is the tune that made me know him, musically, some year ago: the Thomas Bangalter Edit of 'Signatune', part of the 'Lucky Girl EP', out on 2006.

La coppia Dj Mehdi & Riton che si fa chiamare Carte Blanche è prossima a presentare il primo EP intitolato 'Black Billionaires', in uscita il 31 maggio su Ed Banger.

Carte Blanche - In The Mix

Carte Blanche è il nome del nuovo progetto nato dalla collaborazione fra Riton e Dj Mehdi. Hanno in cantiere un EP che uscirà a maggio su Ed Banger.

Hanno anche in programma un corposo tour che prevede fra le altre date quella a Roma per L-Ektrica (11 maggio) e quelle del Sonar a Barcellona e La Coruna.
