Sono passati ben 11 anni dall'ultimo album di Annie, era il 2009 quando è uscito 'Don't Stop'.
Successivamente sono usciti altri brani qua e là (vedi l'EP 'Endless Vacation') ma quest'autunno arriverà un nuovo LP dal titolo 'Dark Hearts'.
Come ricorderete Annie si è fatta notare nel momento di esposione dei blog con brani come 'Heartbeat' o 'Chewing Gum' imponendosi come possibile reginetta norvegese del pop pur nascendo come dj e collaborando nel tempo con diversi produttori e dj.
Per i curiosi Annie è nata a solo 24h e 2000km di distanza dallo scrivente ;)
Il nuovo album è stato prodotto da Stefan Storm ed è stato defito da Annie come "la colonna sonora di un film che non esiste". Durante il periodo della registrazione Annie era incinta e la cosa ha ovviamente influenzato l'album.
I did a lot of recording while I was pregnant, puking while I was singing. Stefan had to go out to buy me liquorice, but I still managed to do some quite good vocals.”
La data di uscita ufficiale dell'album è il 16 ottobre.
Per ora possiamo ascoltare il primo brano 'American Cars'.

In merito a questo primo singolo Annie ha detto:
It was partly inspired by the David Cronenberg film Crash. It was 2PM and the only other people in the cinema were two old men, a mum and her screaming baby, and 16-year-old me. It was quite a strange experience. The film is about pushing it to the edge. When you’re looking for something dark you don’t necessarily know why you’re doing it. But you’re pushing the boundaries. You can fall, or almost fall, but you climb back.
