Il mix pubblicato un paio di giorni fa da A-Trak è stato preso come spunto dal blog inglese HBF per parlare di uno dei momenti che ha caratterizzato la storia della musica house (electro in particolare) definito 'Bloghaus'.
Che dire, quella storia è passata anche di qui, perché si è parlato della stessa musica che tanto ci ha fatto divertire e ballare.
Stiamo parlando di una decina di anni fa, quando Myspace era molto più diffuso di Facebook ed era il modo migliore per promuovere la musica (Soundcloud non esisteva), quando i blog erano molto usati e letti (adesso FB ha ammazzato tutto), quando indie ed electro contaminavano il dancefloor e spadroneggiavano nei festival.
Il termine Bloghuas sta proprio ad indicare la musica con l'hype maggiore di quegli anni. Qualcosa che è partito più o meno nel 2004 ed è durato per qualche anno, finché Facebook ha cambiato il modo di accedere ai contenuti in rete da una parte e la EDM i gusti musicali mainstream dall'altra.
A-Trak dice:
"I’ve been wanting to record a BLOGHAUS mix for a while now… Some of my favorite songs from the era when electronic music was indie, dirty, distorted and sweaty. A time of low bit-rate mp3s, all-over-print hoodies and MySpace top 8’s. We’re talking about 2007-2009, roughly. That scene laid the foundation for the explosion of dance music that followed. Those were also the formative years of Fool’s Gold Records. Anyway, I got home from the studio the other night and recorded this thing. Had so much fun doing it."
Tutti gli artisti che hanno spopolato su questo blog appartengono alla categoria: Justice (a cui avevo dedicato il primo post), etichette come Ed Banger e Kitsuné, Soulwax, Crookers, Tiga, Digitalism, Boys Noize, A-Trak stesso, senza dimenticare i Daft Punk che erano in tour!
Riporto da HBF: "It spawned hundreds of independent blogs (including this one), inspired a whole new generation of the artists, fans and labels, and while it might be a forgotten sound now, there’s still something really special about the raw, distorted energy of the bloghaus sound that’s sorely missing from today’s overly preened dance music."
Come tutte le cose questo bel periodo è finito, ma resta uno dei migliori per me! :)
