Come ogni anno ad accompagnare il WMC ci sono le assegnazioni dei Dance Music Awards, arrivati alla 24sima edizione. Vi segnalo un po' di vincitori
Best Underground Dance Track -> 'Pjanoo' di Eric Prydz (di sicuro uno dei best del 2008)
Best Alternative/Rock Dance Track -> 'Human' dei Killers (più rock o più trance?)
Best House/Garage Track -> 'Infinity 2008' di Guru Josh Project (tormentone planetario)
Best Progressive House/Trance Track -> 'In And Out Of Love' di Armin van Buuren (Armin rulez)
Best Jungle/DnB Track -> 'The Other Side' dei Pendulum (il primo album era meglio ma anche il secondo piace)
Best Break-Through DJ -> Deadmau5 (ma quanti pezzi o remix ha fatto nell'ultimo anno?)
Best European DJ -> Armin van Buuren (trance)
Best American DJ -> Markus Schulz (anche lui trance)
Best Global DJ -> Tiësto (sempre trance)
Best Producer -> Paul van Dyk (trance trance trance)
Best Remixer -> Dirty South (ma anche un po' di house)
Best Break-Through Artist (Solo) -> Lady Gaga (il pop tamarro funziona sempre)
Best Break-Through Artist (Group) -> The Ting Tings (una delle più belle e fresche sorprese)
Best Global Club -> Amnesia, Ibiza (pietra miliare)
Best Mixer -> Pioneer DJM800 (sempre all'avanguardia)
Best DJ Software -> Traktor Pro (ma due premi anche ad Ableton Live 7)
Best New Product of the Year -> Apple - iPhone 3G (un premio alla Apple dovevano trovarlo anche qui)
